The Texas Islamic Council (T.I.C.) Program was launched by the Freedom and Justice Foundation (F&J) in 2005 to:
allow Mosques in total serving over 100,000 Texans directly from all major Texas cities to support F&J's work enhancing interfaith community relations with more established Texas Baptist, Catholic and Mainline Protestant community groups;
strengthen F&J's efforts to help major metropolitan Texas Muslim communities establish 'Shura Councils' to coordinate Muslim community development efforts leveraging lessons learned from Christian and Jewish communities;
-
enable F&J to give multiple scholarships to Texas Muslim students studying in career fields with an impact on public policy and public opinion. |
